Imagine…

Having the freedom to paddle whenever the mood strikes you

Without the hassle of booking an instructor. Without planning around other people’s schedules. Without the crowds.

On a secret SUP spot only locals know about.

Where you can paddle at your own pace and come back to the city feeling energised, alive and proud!

What would it feel like…

Having that micro adventure that fits into your busy life — despite having kids and a full-time job?

No crowded spaces or chaotic group lessons.

Nur You. New Jork. And iSUP — with the sound of water lapping against your board and birds chirping overhead.

Embracing the stillness of nature.

travel quote saying Nele Sienknecht's SUP tour South of Hamburg is a hidden gem only few paddlers know about

Take your day from regular to refreshing in just 2,5 hrs

If youʼre anything like me, you feel that itch every time summer rolls around. That itch to escape the mundane. That itch to get away from the masses. That itch to explore to recharge your uninspired brain.

away from the Alster. Away from the crowds.

So you grab your board, head to the lake, hoping to find some inspiration on the water. And then… reality hits… because let’s face it: Alster during Summer can feel a lot like Sommer-Dom auf St.Pauli, right?

SUP SOLO on what might be hamburg’s last secret SUP SPOT

An overcrowded amusement park packed with people whose pace doesn’t match yours. Group sessions that’ve been cancelled because of low signups? Been there. Slip fees to get your board on the water and a best friend’s calendar, which never seem to sync with yours? Ugh — enough of that.

the story behind the SUP tour guide SUP SOLO Altes Land

I moved to Buxtehude during maternity leave

And boy, that wasn’t easy on me. I moved away from the mountains. Away from paddleboarding on ice-cold glacier water. Away from my identity of just being me – Nele – and into the unknown.

I missed so much. Most of all. Stillness. Nature. And Space.

Sitting on our balcony that’s facing the harbour, I was wondering: Why isn’t anyone paddleboarding here? Away from the city. Away from the crowds…

I realised I was onto something special

A secret SUP spot that gives you sanity, speeds up your skills and takes you away from the masses — all of that 30 minutes away from Hamburg’s hipsters and hustle.

I’m here for you. Feel free to reach out for guidance on this specific route or if you have questions by sending an email to find@klaeriti.com

While you may be tempted to share, the guide is intended for your personal use. If your friends are interested, encourage them to grab their own copy.

While GPX files make navigation on complex waterways easier, they are not strictly necessary on this route. The tour follows a straightforward waterway that is well-marked. Thus, no GPX file will be required to get you from A (Buxtehude) to B (Jork) and is therefore not included. Use the visual markers along the way for guidance and enjoy the scenery rather than the screen.

Let’s talk value. You’ll be gaining insider knowledge that will transform how you experience the river. The freedom to paddle when and how you want to is priceless. But I don’t need to tell you this, right?

The guide will receive updates throughout the summer of 2026 at no extra costs for you.

While the guide is tailored to the tidal river Este, many of the principles and tips can be adapted to similar waterways. Feel free to take inspiration and adjust to your own local paddling spots!

Typically, I recommend using it on your tablet or smartphone (make sure to put your device in a dry bag while you’re on the water) and only print the tidal calendar if necessary.
